Standard Chartered’s global headquarters are in the UK and we are listed on the London Stock Exchange. From the UK, we provide products and services for multinational corporations and international banks in Europe who trade or invest in our main markets - Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. We also offer solutions to individuals who are based overseas and have interests in the UK and Europe.

Our European presence is constantly expanding. We established a representative office in Switzerland in order to focus on our commodity trader clients in March 2007, and opened an office in Ireland following the acquisition of Pembroke, an aircraft leasing and financing business in October 2007.

In September 2007, Standard Chartered announced the acquisition of Harrison Lovegrove, a leading UK-based, global oil and gas M&A and advisory business. This acquisition will deepen our capability and specialist expertise in the oil and gas sector.

Standard Chartered has had a presence in Turkey since 2003 and we are recognised as a leading international bank there. We serve the international financing needs of major Turkish corporates and commodity finance clients, acting as an intermediary between Turkey and the Bank’s global network and international customer base. Along with the full portfolio of wholesale banking products, our expertise includes developing Islamic finance structures and products.
