Of special mention are:
Elaine Heng, Head of Group Chief Executive Office, Standard Chartered, London, was conferred The Asian Banker Promising Young Banker Award for Singapore 2007. She joined the Bank in the year 2000 as a Senior Manager for Mortgages and Auto in Singapore and rose to the position of General Manager for Lending in just seven years. Today, she assists Peter Sands, Group Chief Executive, in overseeing the Bank’s operations in over 50 countries in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Victor Lee, General Manager, SME Banking, Standard Chartered, Taiwan, was recognised as one of the 100 Most Promising Young Bankers in the Asia Pacific and Gulf region. Victor was previously the General Manager, SME Banking, Singapore. Prior to this role, he was Group Head of Liabilities and FX in the Group SME business. He assisted over 20 SME value centers across Asia, Middle East and Africa in developing strategies for their respective markets.

Standard Chartered was also the sole recipient of The Asian Banker Award for Achievement in Cash Management 2007. The Asian Banker cited Standard Chartered Bank‘s strong performance, product innovation and cost management as key reasons why it was chosen amongst a strong pool of international contenders. The Bank’s Cash Management business saw a 25 per cent increase in revenue in the Asia Pacific, largely due to innovative offerings such as Straight2Bank, a revolutionary internet banking platform for Wholesale Banking clients.
